1. About Us
The SCENE ACADEMY Limited (“we”, “us”, “our”) provides performing arts education and related activities, including but not limited to drama, dance, and performance training. These Terms & Conditions govern the relationship between The SCENE ACADEMY Limited and all students, parents/guardians, and participants.
By enrolling, attending classes, or using our services, you agree to these Terms & Conditions.
2. Enrolment & Registration
2.1 Enrolment is subject to availability and acceptance by The SCENE ACADEMY Limited.
2.2 A completed registration form and acceptance of these Terms & Conditions are required before participation.
2.3 For students under 18, a parent or legal guardian must complete registration and accept these Terms on their behalf.
2.4 We reserve the right to refuse or terminate enrolment where behaviour, non-payment, or safety concerns arise.
3. Fees & Payments
3.1 Fees are communicated in advance and are payable as specified at the time of enrolment.
3.2 Fees must be paid by the stated deadline. Failure to do so may result in suspension or termination of attendance.
3.3 Unless otherwise stated, fees are non-refundable.
3.4 Missed classes due to illness, holidays, or personal circumstances are not refundable.
3.5 We reserve the right to adjust fees with reasonable notice.
4. Cancellations & Withdrawals
4.1 Notice of withdrawal must be provided in writing via email or post.
4.2 Any applicable notice periods will be confirmed at enrolment.
4.3 The SCENE ACADEMY Limited reserves the right to cancel or reschedule classes due to unforeseen circumstances (e.g. staff illness, venue issues). Where possible, alternative arrangements will be offered.
5. Attendance & Punctuality
5.1 Regular attendance and punctuality are expected to ensure a positive learning experience.
5.2 Repeated lateness or unexplained absences may be addressed with the student or parent/guardian.
5.3 Students arriving late may not be permitted to join a class if it would cause disruption or pose a safety risk.
6. Behaviour & Conduct
6.1 All students are expected to behave respectfully towards staff, fellow students, and property.
6.2 Bullying, harassment, abusive language, or unsafe behaviour will not be tolerated.
6.3 We reserve the right to remove a student from a class or terminate enrolment if behaviour is deemed unacceptable.
6.4 No refunds will be issued in cases of removal due to misconduct.
7. Health, Safety & Welfare
7.1 Students must be physically fit to participate in activities.
7.2 Any medical conditions, injuries, allergies, or additional needs must be disclosed at registration.
7.3 The SCENE ACADEMY Limited will take reasonable steps to ensure a safe environment but cannot accept responsibility for undisclosed conditions.
7.4 In the event of illness or injury during a session, we reserve the right to seek medical assistance where necessary.
8. Safeguarding
8.1 We are committed to safeguarding children and vulnerable individuals in line with Scottish safeguarding guidance.
8.2 All concerns will be taken seriously and handled appropriately.
8.3 Parents/guardians must ensure that children are collected promptly after sessions unless alternative arrangements have been agreed.
9. Photography, Video & Media
9.1 Photographs and video recordings may be taken during classes, rehearsals, or performances.
9.2 Media may be used for promotional, educational, or archival purposes.
9.3 Consent will be requested where required, and preferences will be respected.
9.4 Personal photography or filming by parents/guardians is only permitted with prior approval.
10. Intellectual Property
10.1 All choreography, scripts, teaching materials, and content remain the intellectual property of The SCENE ACADEMY Limited unless otherwise stated.
10.2 Materials may not be copied, shared, or used for commercial purposes without written permission.
11. Data Protection & Privacy
11.1 Personal data is processed in accordance with our Privacy Policy, UK GDPR, and the Data Protection Act 2018.
11.2 By enrolling, you consent to the collection and use of personal data as outlined in our Privacy Policy.
12. Limitation of Liability
12.1 Participation in physical and performance activities involves an element of risk.
12.2 The SCENE ACADEMY Limited is not liable for personal injury, loss, or damage unless caused by negligence or breach of legal duty.
12.3 Personal belongings are brought to sessions at the owner’s risk.
13. Changes to These Terms
13.1 We reserve the right to update these Terms & Conditions at any time.
13.2 Updated terms will be made available upon request or via our website.
14. Governing Law
These Terms & Conditions are governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of Scotland, and any disputes shall be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the Scottish courts.
